A Conversation with the Founder

On why we chose the path of slow, meaningful exploration in a world that moves too fast.

Born and raised in Tra Vinh, a riverside province in the heart of the Mekong Delta, the founder of The Ant Adventures grew up in a landscape shaped by waterways and seasonal change, where Kinh and Khmer cultures have long coexisted. Life along the river — marked by flooding, resilience and close ties to nature — quietly shaped his respect for the land, its people and their way of life.

Leaving his hometown, he moved to Ho Chi Minh City to study tourism at college level, carrying with him a simple intention: to share Vietnam in a way that felt honest and human. After graduation, he found his calling as a tour guide, spending years on the road — not only learning destinations, but listening to stories, observing communities and understanding the true impact travel can have when done without care.

Over time, a clear realization emerged. The future of travel could not be built on volume and speed alone, but on sustainability, environmental awareness and genuine community connection.

In 2019, this belief took form through the founding of Saigon Morning Ride and The Bike Coffee — spaces that invited people to explore Saigon by bicycle, slow down, and engage with the city through culture, history and everyday life. During this period, he organised numerous community and cultural rides, as well as immersive journeys into the Mekong Delta, centred on local cuisine, regional traditions and meaningful exchanges between people and place.

Then came the pause brought by COVID-19. As travel gradually returned, he reopened Satori, continuing his commitment to green, community-based tourism. Today, that journey evolves naturally into The Ant Adventures. This is not a reinvention, but a continuation — shaped by lived experience, social change and a growing human desire for travel that is gentler, more conscious and more sustainable.

Like ants themselves, The Ant Adventures believes in small, thoughtful steps — taken with care — that together create journeys of lasting meaning.
